Our experience covers fund formation, management structuring and deal execution across a broad range of fund classes, including buyout, venture capital, hedge, real estate, mezzanine, distressed and funds of funds. We have structured complex transactions throughout the world, with particular strengths in energy/infrastructure and emerging markets such as Latin America, the U.S. Hispanic market, Central and Eastern Europe, India, Turkey and the Middle East, as well as Canada.
Our private funds practice, based in New York, is supported by experienced attorneys in our 12 other worldwide offices. As a full-service firm, we strive to provide our clients with a “one-stop shop” in the private funds area. Our other complementary practice areas include U.S. and international taxation, employee benefits and ERISA, mergers and acquisitions, bank finance, securities and corporate governance, project finance, communications, real estate, litigation, insurance/reinsurance, bankruptcy and restructuring, intellectual property and trusts and estates. Attorneys in our private funds practice collectively speak ten languages, providing us special capabilities in support of our emerging markets clients.
Current Chadbourne partners include a founding member of a buyout fund that focuses on U.S. and Latin American middle market investments as well as a senior officer of a multi-billion dollar Europe-based hedge fund. As a result of our direct experience on the business side of the industry, we are in a better position to understand the market and creatively assist our clients in all aspects of fund development, from formation to investment to exit.
