Almaty: Lateral Attorney
The Almaty office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP is seeking attorneys with a Kazakhstan law degree and experience practicing law in Kazakhstan. The ideal candidate must have experience working for an international law firm or for another significant international company. Candidates must have transactional or complex regulatory experience. This includes drafting contracts for significant M&A, finance, capital markets or other deals, as well as drafting legal advice in English on complex regulatory issues. Strong English language and writing skills are required. Work experience in Western countries, LL.M. or foreign bar degree is a plus.
New York: Corporate Attorney Specialist
The New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP is seeking an attorney specialist to work in their Corporate Department. This position supports one of our International Partners whose practice focuses primarily on corporate and securities law in both the United States and Latin American regions, as well as advising clients on cross-border litigation and arbitration matters. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong language and writing skills in both; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus. Candidates must be senior enough to require minimal supervision and be in a position to delegate and supervise junior associates as necessary. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of both U.S. and Latin American cultures, along with excellent client relation skills. Candidates must be extremely well organized and capable of assisting with business development and billing tasks.
New York: Intellectual Property
The New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP seeks an Intellectual Property Associate with three to five years of experience. Prior experience as a patent agent or patent technical advisor preferred. The ideal candidate must have top academic and firm credentials and extensive patent prosecution experience in the computer software, financial service and/or electrical engineering fields. Master degrees and/or MBAs are a plus. Candidates should have further experience in rendering opinions and drafting/negotiating licensing agreements. Additionally, experience in re-exams, oppositions and/or interferences are a plus. The position will involve substantial client contact, and regular oversight of Technical Advisors and Patent Agents as well as coordinating with senior staff regarding strategic initiatives.
The New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP is seeking candidates for its Technical Advisor Program in New York. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a mathematics or other science equivalent. Candidates with one of these technical degrees and an MBA are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates need not have any prior patent experience or legal training. Technical Advisors will assist in evaluating technological issues and prepare and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Advisors will also have an active role in supporting complex patent litigation and licensing. Technical Advisors will routinely perform patent validity and infringement analysis & will oversee patent portfolio management. Candidates must be qualified to take the US Patent Office patent agent exam.
New York: Litigation
The New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP seeks litigation associates with a.) three to five years (Class of 2006, 2007, 2008) OR b.) seven or more years (Class of 2005 and senior) of general commercial litigation experience. The ideal candidates will have top academic and Firm credentials.
New York: Project Finance
The New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP seeks a Project Finance Associate with three to six years of experience. The ideal candidate will have top firm and academic credentials and will have prior experience in project finance specific transactions. The candidate must have strong competency in drafting and negotiating the principal financing documentation (including credit agreements and depositary agreements) as well as experience in drafting or reviewing project documentation (including EPC contracts and/or supply contracts).
New York: Tax Department
The New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP seeks an associate to join its Tax Department. This position is for a tax associate to join one of the largest and most dynamic international project finance practices in the country. The qualified applicant should have three to six years experience (flexible) in a large law firm or Big 4 accounting firm and should have some experience with tax planning and structuring for complex investments in energy and infrastructure assets in the US and abroad. The candidate should have familiarity or background in some or all of the following substantive tax areas: partnership taxation, energy tax credits and other tax issues specific to energy investments, inbound and outbound foreign tax planning, including FIRPTA issues, tax ownership concepts, leasing and other forms of tax optimal asset based financings. The position will require help with research, drafting and managing transactions, primarily in the renewable energy field (wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, ocean energy, fuel cells), but more broadly to all asset based financings of large energy and infrastructure assets.
São Paulo, Brazil: Corporate
The Sao Paulo, Brazil office of Chadbourne & Parke is seeking New York and English qualified attorneys with one to six years of experience to join its growing office there. Ideal candidates will have experience in bank and or/project finance transactions and/or experience in general corporate transactions, ideally involving private equity and fund formation. Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills as well as experience in Brazil and other parts of Latin America are strongly preferred.
Washington, DC: Project Finance
The Washington DC office of Chadbourne and Parke is seeking an Associate for its Project Finance Department. The ideal applicant will have a general understanding of the FERC practice, experience in drafting and negotiating power contracts, transmission and interconnection agreements. We are looking for applicants with between three and eight years of experience. Experience in Project Finance is highly preferred, but candidates with exceptional backgrounds in other finance or project development practices are also encouraged to apply. Candidates should have top academic and firm credentials.
