Practice Description

Joanna Nowak-Paradowska's practice focuses on the areas of energy and project finance. She advises on such issues as legal analysis of the energy enterprises, project finance in the energy sector, electricity, gas, heat snd solid fuels purchase agreements, transmission service agreements, issues related to renewable energy sources and co-generation. Her practice also encompasses proceedings before the President of the Energy Regulatory Authority in cases connected with licenses, tariffs, stranded costs and disputes.

Representative Matters

  • Advised the Pątnów-Adamów-Konin Power Plant on financing and construction of their 460MW lignite-fired power generating unit. 
  • Participated in legal due diligence processes of a number of power generators and combined heat and power plants (CHPs) in Poland in connection with their privatization or acquisition. 
  • Advised power generating utilities, distribution companies, electricity traders and energy market organizations on regulatory issues as well as on renewable energy and co-generated electricity matters. 
  • Advises power plants on introduction of the law terminating long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).
