Practice Description
John Kheit has been involved in litigating, patenting and licensing a wide range of technologies extending across biomedical, communications, computer and financial services sectors. He has expertise with various technologies including: electronic commerce and payment systems; microprocessors; telephone, wireless and network technologies; and he has been particularly active in various computer software sectors.
Further, he has been involved in the aggressive patenting of pure software technologies, including data-structures, digital rights management technologies, financial instruments, graphical user interfaces, peer-to-peer networking, and other leading edge areas. Most recently, he has been involved, heavily, in various settlement negotiations and litigation matters involving Internet and commerce-related patents. As a Chadbourne associate, Mr. Kheit also is experienced in aspects of technology transfers and transactional licensing.
Prior to his extensive law practice, Mr. Kheit’s diversity of work experiences spanned academic, corporate and high-technology arenas. He worked for companies such as Time Warner and taught at Franklin Pierce Law Center, Harvard University and the University of Toledo Law School. He also had hands-on experience in the technical development of software where he worked for companies such as NeXT Computer, Inc.
