Gabriel Wujek has represented Poland in numerous negotiations relating to international commercial agreements, agreements of avoidance of double taxation, and the promotion and protection of investments, including serving as the senior negotiator for the U.S.-Poland trade treaty.
Representative Matters
- Represented LOT Polish Airlines with respect to the acquisition and financing of Boeing 767 and 737 aircrafts.
- Represented the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Poland in the first privatization of a Polish bank.
- Represented the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the privatization of a Polish automotive company with the participation of major U.S., European and Asian car manufacturers; the privatization of a Warsaw steel mill with the participation of a leading Italian steel group; and the privatization of Sandomierz glass works with the participation of a leading UK glass manufacturer.
- Represented Polish and foreign investors in numerous privatization transactions, such as the acquisition of the largest Polish pharmaceutical company, as well as the acquisition by The Gillette Company of the largest Polish razor blade manufacturer.
- Represented Polish investors and investment groups in establishing joint ventures with foreign partners in industries such as pharmaceuticals, fast-moving consumer goods, media and entertainment.
- Represented foreign and Polish investors in numerous M&A transactions, including the representation of a leading French bank in its acquisitions of a major Polish bank and a leasing company.
- Represented Polish and foreign companies financing the Polish and international capital markets, including the successful €235 million high-yield bond offering and subsequent public offering of shares of the second largest Polish commercial television station, and the $269 million offering of shares of Multimedia Polska S.A. carried out in 2006.
- Represented clients in transactions concluded through international arbitration dispute resolution, such as representing a Danish investor TDC A/S in the process of acquisition and subsequently in the sale of their stake of shares in Polkomtel, one of three major mobile operators in Poland, of total value at sale exceeding EUR 860 million, after a successfully resolved international trade related dispute brought before the Vienna International Arbitral Court (VIAC) by Vodafone Americas Inc.

Dr. Wujek has been listed in Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2003-2010) in corporate/M&A law in Poland. He is also listed in Chambers Europe - Europe's Leading Lawyers for Business (2008, 2009) in corporate/M&A law in Poland. He is recognized by Best Lawyers (2010) for his work in corporate and M&A law in Poland. He is listed as a recommended lawyer in corporate/M&A law in Poland and in the area of capital markets in Poland in PLC Which Lawyer? (2010).
Activities and Affiliations
Dr. Wujek is a member of the International Bar Association and is an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court of the Polish National Chamber of Commerce. He has written and edited numerous works on business law, including a monography of legal aspects concerning the activities of multinational enterprises, and a guide on how to invest in Poland.
