Risk Oversight: What Should Boards Be Doing About Risk Now?

October, 2010

Recent amendments to SEC disclosure rules are intended to improve shareholder and investor understanding of a board’s role in risk oversight. However, what exactly should the board's role be? How can a board effectively oversee risk?

You are invited to join lawyers from Chadbourne & Parke and leaders from Aon Risk Solutions on October 28th for a roundtable discussion on the emerging legal and functional issues regarding the governance of risk at the board level. We will discuss current practical and legal risk management guidelines and what questions boards should be asking about risk. Our panelists will draw upon lessons from jurisdictions around the world, and discuss emerging ‘best practices’ that can be used as a road map to help boards navigate the new disclosure requirements.
