The global economic downturn has significantly increased financial pressure on corporations around the world and is likely to continue to do so for years to come. It is more important than ever before for lenders and borrowers to understand all of the restructuring options open to them, at both the domestic and international level, in order to deal with the multiple issues arising from over-levered balance sheets.

This unique program will consist of two separate panels focusing on cross-border restructuring from both U.S. and European perspectives:

• The U.S. panel will discuss how the U.S. Chapter 11 process can be used to effectuate the restructuring of an international company by analyzing the recent and successful prepackaged Chapter 11 of Xerium Technologies.
• The European panel will discuss the most recent issues in the European restructuring market with a particular focus on the UK and Germany.
