Joseph H. Smolinsky spoke in New York on June 5 at a conference titled, "Intersection of Bankruptcy & Tax: Planning & Pitfalls Including the Emergent Roles of Hedge Funds & Private Equity."  Mr. Smolinsky was on the faculty of the program, which highlighted the challenges that insolvent entities face in navigating the Internal Revenue and Bankruptcy Codes. He specifically addressed the impact of bankruptcy laws on the owners of pass-through entities for tax purposes.
