Practice Description
Elizabeth G. Kurpis' practice focuses on domestic and international corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and the organization and operation of a wide variety of private equity funds and hedge funds. Ms. Kurpis advises investment banks, financial institutions and boutique firms as sponsors of leveraged buyout, international private equity, mezzanine, merchant banking and other private investment funds. She has actively participated in the development of the market terms and fund-raising strategies, the preparation of offering materials and the negotiation of the definitive documents for these investment funds.
Ms. Kurpis also advises institutional and independent sponsors of numerous hedge funds and fund-of-funds active in widely different strategies, including distressed debt, equity long-short, multi-strategy, fixed income and emerging markets.
In addition, Ms. Kurpis has experience in intellectual property matters and client negotiation.
Honors
During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Kurpis was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Further, while attending law school, she was an associate editor of the Villanova Law Review from 2005-2007.
Activities and Affiliations
Ms. Kurpis is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. She is also the founder and author of FemaleLawyer.com.
