Representative Litigation and Arbitration Matters

• Acted as a member of the team successfully representing a Russian power generating company in the International Commercial Arbitration Court in Moscow in a dispute over an agreement for the reconstruction of a major hydropower station in    Russia where the general contractor did not fulfill its obligations.
• Acted as a member of the team in preparation of expert evidence on Russian law for a multimillion-dollar case considered by the High Court of Justice Queen's Bench Division Commercial Court in London.
• Acted as a member of the team in preparation of expert report on Russian family law matters for presentation to the High Court of Justice.
• Represented a major investment fund in a dispute on validity of a mandatory tender offer on acquisition of shares in a major Russian energy-generating company.
• Acted as a member of the team in preparation of expert evidence on issues related to corporate governance, the securities market, and general civil legislation for presentation to the London Court of International Arbitration for a dispute claim worth $450 million.
• Represented a major international air cargo carrier in a dispute arising out of international air carriage agreement, involving issues related to Russian import requirements.
• Advised a major international air cargo carrier in a dispute against a customs broker related to the violations of import requirements and a defamation action against such customs broker.
• Advised multinational bank on enforcement of foreign judgments and international arbitration awards in the Russian Federation.
• Advised and represented clients on bankruptcy matters.

Representative Corporate Matters

• Represented Daimler AG's truck division in a $250 million deal to acquire a 10% stake in Russian truck maker KamAZ.
• Represented OJSC Vimpel-Communications (VimpelCom) in its approximately $226 million acquisition of a 49.9% stake in the Euroset Group, Russia's largest mobile handset retailer.
• Represented European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in a $100 million acquisition of a 4% stake in KAMAZ.
• Represented VimpelCom on a RUB 1 billion acquisition of a 100% stake in a St. Petersburg-based fixed-line operator 
• Advised a major international natural resources development company on its acquisition of Russian natural resources exploration and mining companies.
• Participated in numerous due diligence investigations and preparation of legal opinions in connection with the admission of certain international natural resources development companies to AIM on the London Stock Exchange.

Other Matters

• Advised EBRD (as lead arranger and lender) in connection with NBD Bank's first international syndicated loan.
• Represented OTP Bank on real estate transactions in Russia.
• Represented a major gold mining company in negotiating a contract for engineering services and preparation of a feasibility study of a gold and silver mine in the Chukotka Autonomous Region.
• Represented a major gold mining company in negotiating a series of contracts for construction of a man-camp in the Chukotka Autonomous Region, including supply of equipment and construction management.
