New York: Trusts and Estates Paralegal

Chadbourne & Parke LLP currently seeks a Trusts & Estates Paralegal with 5+ years of experience for our New York office to assist with all aspects of estate planning and estate and trust administration. Under the direction of attorneys, the candidate will prepare federal and state estate tax returns, probate and other Surrogate Court filings and assist with the preparation of basic estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, health care proxies, living wills and powers of attorney. Experience must also include handling all aspects of estate administration including identifying and collecting assets, maintaining estate bank accounts, paying/tracking estate expenditures, distributions to beneficiaries and familiarity with estate and trust accountings and receipt and release agreements. Responsibilities will also include assistance with preparation of FBARs and other tax-related filings and administrative tax matters. The candidate must have excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under deadlines. Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills are a must, along with strong computer skills and familiarity with HotDocs, accounting and tax software and Excel. Flexibility for overtime is also needed.

New York: Design and Marketing Coordinator

Chadbourne & Parke LLP is seeking an experienced Design and Marketing Coordinator to work within the Business Development and Marketing Department in the New York office. The candidate should have a background in graphic design and website administration as this position is a unique blend of both. This role reports to the Marketing and Brand Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Design brochures, invitations, one sheets, newsletters and advertisements
  • Design assets for print, web, social media, PowerPoint and more
  • Design presentations for both internal and external audiences
  • Maintain an inventory of lawyer headshots; resize as needed
  • Create invitations, etc. in our email marketing software
  • Maintain and update website content
  • Work with web vendor to coordinate development of website and report any existing problems
  • Post and manage blog content
  • Keep department intranet organized and current
  • Assistance with firm podcast as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design
  • 2-4 years of experience, experience in professional services preferred

Washington, DC: Marketing and Business Development
Coordinator

Chadbourne & Parke LLP seeks a Marketing and Business Development Coordinator to support the project finance team in the Washington, DC office.  This position involves working directly with partners and associates who are heavily involved in renewable energy projects and projects in emerging markets on a range of marketing-related activities, as well as the global BD team.  The Marketing and Business Development Coordinator will report to the practice group head and the Business Development Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing and maintaining a database for the project finance group (InterAction); update and maintain mailing lists by performing quality checks and coordinating address updates
  • Organizing dinners and workshops, researching, and liaising with potential panelists
  • Coordinating all aspects of events sponsorships and speaking opportunities, including assembling substantive materials and promotional items for industry conferences, organizing transcripts, events set-up and follow up
  • Assisting with the collection of firm experience, coordinating with partners and associates to ensure accurate descriptions of deals for use in client pitches and submissions
  • Assist managers and attorneys in coordinating response efforts for business development pitch and proposal materials, responses for RFPs, and other client-facing business development materials
  • Preparing submissions for key legal directories and industry league tables
  • Conduct research regarding existing and potential clients, competitor activity, and industry or market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, presentations and proposals
  • Conduct interviews with new project finance attorneys in all offices to share with the global project finance group
  • Provide general administrative support to the project finance group and business development and marketing department

Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree is required, and 1-3 years of experience working in professional services. Candidates must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. The marketing coordinator must be a proactive self-starter who demonstrates good judgment, exhibits enthusiasm, has a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. He/she needs the ability to build relationships and gain the trust of attorneys in the group. Must be flexible in order to respond quickly to shifting opportunities and demands; must be confident handling multiple detailed tasks. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, coordinating with BD team members and attorneys across multiple offices.

This position will have frequent interaction and collaboration with the marketing staff responsible for internal communications, client events, market research and business development.
