Green Initiative
Launched in April 2008, Chadbourne’s Green Initiative is changing the way the Firm works. Focused on recycling and reductions in energy and resource consumption, the Green Initiative enables personnel in domestic offices to have an impact on the environment from day one. The changes at the Firm are both large and small, from recycling bins at desks and the distribution of reusable water bottles to double-sided printing, use of recycled paper and Energy Star-rated equipment, and purchases of Renewable Energy Certificates to offset 60 percent of the Firm’s domestic energy use.
The Green Initiative reflects Chadbourne’s engagement with environmental issues from both professional and civic vantage points. Professionally, our attorneys are on the front lines serving clients who are developing renewable energy resources, including wind, solar, and geothermal power and biofuels. In the civic sense, we are deeply aware of the realities of climate change and how those realities challenge us all to rethink and change our behaviors. The Green Initiative is our way of taking immediate, quantifiable steps to limit our impact on the environment.
Chadbourne has completed the requirements to qualify as a leader for the ABA-EPA Law Office Climate Challenge.
Our dedication to wise climate policies matches our devotion to client service. In the months to come, Chadbourne plans to take other actions that will further reduce our carbon footprint. We will update this page as they take effect.
