Practice Description
Aaron Bartell is an associate in Chadbourne & Parke LLP’s corporate department and is a member of the Firm’s communications, media and technology practice group.
Mr. Bartell’s practice focuses on representing and advising clients on regulatory, corporate, and transactional matters and mergers and acquisitions. He has also represented clients in adversarial matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, as well as with respect to federal regulatory agency investigations. In addition, he has experience working with Chadbourne’s Project Finance team representing renewable energy clients in debt and equity financings and other corporate matters.
Representative Matters
- Advised a U.S. top-25 regional cable company with respect to must-carry, retransmission consent and other carriage issues, including with respect to the digital broadcast transition; state and federal cable policy issues; and federal cable and telecommunications regulatory compliance.
- Represented a U.S. top-25 regional cable company in adversarial administrative proceedings and federal and state litigation with respect to cable franchising and unfair competition matters.
- Represented a private equity investor in the proposed acquisition of a national cable programming network.
- Represented a U.S. company in the acquisition of a unified communications service provider headquartered in the United Kingdom.
- Represented a publicly-traded specialty telecommunications company in four strategic acquisitions valued at $122 million, as well as in establishing the related $85 million secured credit facilities.
- Advised a publicly-traded specialty telecommunications company with respect to federal and state certification and regulatory compliance and in on-going Federal Communications Commission rule making proceedings.
- Represented a wind power company in connection with a construction loan and tax equity financing for a 106.5 MW wind farm.
- Represented a publicly-traded telecommunications company in a litigation arising from the sale of a subsidiary that operated as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), with respect to the terms and conditions of such sale and the continued operation of the MVNO.
- Represented a telecommunications company in a multi-year investigation by a federal regulatory agency with respect to a variety of regulatory compliance issues.
- Represented a facilities-based wireless and wireline telecommunications company with respect to the acquisition, management, and leasing of wireless spectrum.
