Tribune Company Chapter 11 Case
Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Tribune Company
Chadbourne represents the Official Creditors' Committee in this ongoing high profile Chapter 11 of this media giant. The company, one of the largest to file in 2008 with over $13 billion in debt, was battered in the downturn following its conversion, through a leveraged buy-out (LBO), to a private company under billionaire real estate investor Sam Zell. Tribune Company owns and operates seven major newspapers (including the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times), 23 television and radio properties and the Chicago Cubs professional baseball team. As counsel to the Creditors' Committee, we are involved in every aspect of the Tribune cases, including the sale of the Chicago Cubs, as well as a massive investigation into possible causes of action arising out of the LBO transaction.
