China National Petroleum Corporation

Chadbourne represented CNPC International Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation, as the lead counsel in a transaction that forms part of the $1.3 billion sale of 33% of the shares of Petrokazakhstan, Inc., a Kazakh energy company, to JSC KazMunaiGas KMG, the Kazakh state-owned oil and gas company.

Chadbourne also helped establish a joint venture between CNPC and the Kazakh energy company to construct and operate an oil export pipeline from Kazakhstan to China.
