Practice Description
Hwan Kim focuses on corporate work in the communications and technology industries, and he serves as the head of Chadbourne’s Korea practice. Mr. Kim has broad experience as a corporate lawyer advising public and private companies and their shareholders and board of directors on a broad spectrum of matters, including corporate governance issues, mergers and acquisition, private placements, joint venture, alliances, public offerings, crisis management, and in wide array of commercial transactions.
Representative Matters
- Representation of several multinational corporations in multibillion dollar cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
- Representation of one of the largest private equity funds and hedge funds in its investment in a communications information technology business.
- Representation of mobile communications security service companies in connection with their corporate and financing matters.
- Representation of several information technology companies in their alliances, joint ventures and acquisitions.
- Representation of a biotechnology client in its corporate, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and financing matters.
- Representation of one of the largest steel manufacturers in connection with its corporate, financing, joint venture matters, and overseas investment.
- Represented Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. in connection with providing wireless telecommunication technology infrastructure—the Wireless Olympic Worx—for the 2004, 2006 and 2008 Olympic Games.
- Represented Sea Launch Company LLC in connection with certain satellite launch services negotiations and agreements.
- Represented Walter Anderson, accused by prosecutors of the largest tax evasion in America, on corporate matters in connection with his indictment.
