FCC Regulatory Matters

Our attorneys regularly meet with the Federal Communications Commission in connection with our clients' needs. We advocate for changes in policy and rules, participate in submitting comments to various proceedings and actively engage the appropriate parties at the Commission to address our clients' concerns and further their objectives. Recently, we have been involved in policy issues relating to the cable and satellite industries, telecommunications relay services, wireless tower siting matters and the federally funded E-Rate Program. We also counsel clients on mechanisms for minimizing the application of regulation or regulatory oversight on their business operations.

Our track record of successful representation of companies in FCC proceedings includes applications for new licenses, modification and upgrades of licenses, transfers of control and assignments and enforcement proceedings and investigations. We have successfully handled numerous contested proceedings at the FCC over many years of practice and have extensive knowledge of the FCC reporting and compliance requirements, including ownership and EEO reports. We also have represented companies in asserting their policy concerns relating to anti-competitive behaviors, and the consolidation and vertical integration within the telecommunications and media industries.
