Practice Description

Dorota Szubielska concentrates her practice in tax law, especially excise tax, gambling tax, tax litigation, administrative law and procedure, corporate restructuring, finance, and mergers and acquisitions. She has represented clients in numerous proceedings before the Polish Supreme Court, the Polish Administrative Courts and the Constitutional Tribunal. Ms. Szubielska has also served as a lecturer at numerous professional training programs and conferences for attorneys in financial and tax law. As a tax and legal advisor, she has participated in legislative work on tax, foreign exchange and finance law as the Ministry of Finance’s and Parliament’s expert.

Representative Matters

  • Advised on numerous tax transactions and restructurings as well as on one of the first demergers of public companies in Poland. 
  • Represented Polish and international corporations, leading Polish banks and investment funds in tax and customs litigations before administrative courts and the Constitutional Tribunal.

Honors

Ms. Szubielska is listed in Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business for tax (2003-2008). She is also listed in Chambers Europe - Europe's Leading Lawyers for Business (2008) for tax in Poland.

Activities and Affiliations

Ms. Szubielska is a member of the Legislative Committee at the National Committee of Legal Advisors, the State Examination Committee for Tax Consultants (first and second term) and the Editorial Board of Prawo i Podatki (a Polish tax law professional publication).  She is also an advisor to the Legislative Commission of the National Chamber of Tax Advisors.
