Chadbourne Partner Ayşe Yüksel Named To Prestigious American Lawyer "45 Under 45" List

Chadbourne partner Ayşe Yüksel was honored in the prestigious "45 Under 45" list published by The American Lawyer in January 2011. The list recognizes the "best of the best among young women lawyers in The Am Law 200."

The list, based on nominations and interviews with clients, colleagues and opposing counsel, recognized women attorneys "who have built successful original practices … or have taken their practices to new places" — in Ms. Yüksel's case, to the Middle East.

Ms. Yüksel's work in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey impressed the Am Law researchers. As head of Chadbourne's MENA/Turkey Corporate practice, she has helped the firm distinguish itself in the MENA region.

American Lawyer stated that, after working with Ms. Yüksel on the privatization of Bulgaria's state-owned telecom company in a 2004 transaction, Koç Holding A.Ş. has frequently used her and her team for M&A deals, including the $3.4 billion Migros transaction. Am Law researchers were also wowed by Ms. Yüksel's recent work for The Carlyle Group's MENA fund, a first-time client for the firm, on a landmark transaction in the Turkish healthcare industry.
