- Ontario-based Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board acquired part of Singapore's Flextronics' share in California-based Aricent for US$255 million (09/22/09).
- Quebec-based Aptilon acquired the assets of Direct Medical Data, LLC and BLM Incorporated of Illinois for an estimated US$31.7 million (09/18/09).
- Nevada's Sky Harvest Windpower Corp. acquired by British Columbia-based Keewatin Windpower Corp. in a reverse merger. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (09/12/09).
- Alberta's The Crossing Company Inc. acquired The HDD Company of California. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (09/09/09).
- Ontario-based Canada Pension Plan Investment Board purchased a 15% stake in eBay's Skype for US$300 million (09/07/09).

- Alberta-based Calfrac acquired the Colorado-based well fracturing division of Pure Energy Assets for US$42.8 million (08/11/09).
- Corix of British Columbia acquired a 50% stake in Alaska's Fairbanks Sewer & Water. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (08/11/09)
- The Caldwell Partners of Ontario acquired Cromwell Partners in New York. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (08/10/09).
- Quebec-based Lallemand acquired Wisconsin-based yeast company Lake States. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (08/06/09).
- Open Text of Ontario acquired Texas-based Vignette for approximately US$310 million (07/21/09).
- Quebec-based Saputo acquired the operations of California's F&A Dairy for a cash consideration of US$44.5 million (07/21/09).
- Quebec-based SNC-Lavalin acquired a 20% stake in New York's Astoria Energy II for US$70 million (07/03/09).

- Tennessee-based Astec Industries, Inc. acquired Ontario-based Industrial Mechanical & Integration. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (09/30/09).
- Texas-based Headworks Inc. acquired Hydroxyl Services Inc. of British Columbia to enhance its work on re-usable water systems. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (09/18/09).

- New York's Broadview Networks acquired certain assets of Ontario-based Natural Convergence. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (08/07/09).

- PeriGen of New Jersey acquired the assets of LMS Medical Systems a Quebec-based provider of material-fetal monitoring technologies. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (07/27/09).
- New Jersey-based Avaya acquired Business Enterprise Solutions Arm of Ontario-based Nortel for US$475 million (07/20/09).
- Alberta's Eveready acquired Clean Harbors of Massachusetts for US$409 million (07/17/09).
- Exar Corporation acquired Ontario-based fobless semiconductor company, Galazar Networks. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (07/02/09).
- R.J. Corman of Kentucky acquired Railpower Technologies of Quebec. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (07/01/09).
Canada into Emerging Markets
- Alberta-based Niko Resources acquired an additional 10% stake in the Qara Dagh production sharing contract in Iraq. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (09/07/09).
- British Columbia's Bayou acquired interests in three E&P licences in Iraqi Kurdistan. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (09/01/09).

Emerging Markets into Canada
- China Investment Corporation purchased a US$1.7 billion equity stake in Teck Resources of Vancouver, China's biggest-ever investment in a Canadian company (07/17/09).
- Saudi petrochemical company International Petroleum Investment Company acquired Alberta's Nova Chemicals for US$500 million (07/08/09).
- Kavveri of India acquired Quebec's Trackcom Systems. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed (07/03/09).
